DENSO Partners with IVADO Offers Deep Learning and Cybersecurity R&D

The long-term vision to help the Automotive Industry research and foster

DENSO became an industry member of the Montréal-based Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO). Announced on 11th July, DENSO collaborated as the Institute fosters joined forces between private and academic researchers to cultivate and expand operational research and artificial intelligence (AI). As the automotive industry continues to shift toward developing areas, such as automated driving, cloud computing, and AI, the Company promises to leverage IVADO’s research talent and capabilities in order to enhance its effort into deep learning, data mining, cybersecurity, and more.

As the world’s second-largest mobility supplier, DENSO’s long-term plan is to focus on expediting company innovation by broadening its research and development (R&D) capabilities outside of Japan. The idea came on a light after DENSO and officials from Québec, Montréal, and the Government of Canada opened the company’s Montréal Innovation Lab, the first site in the city.

Much like DENSO’s work with IVADO, the lab aims to ignite accelerating innovations in advanced technology like AI for mobility. The DENSO-IVADO relationship highlights some key significance both have contributed to each other in regards to newly introduced Montréal Innovation Lab:

  • DENSO has a strong presence in Canada for nearly five decades, the recently opened Montréal Innovation Lab focuses on researching next-generation technologies that will significantly affect future transportation.
  • Through this partnership, DENSO accesses an innovative professional training, strategic research partnerships with major networks and consortiums, and increase interaction with Montréal’s massive data-valorization community
  • Collaborating with the data-valorization community, diverse in perspective and talent features an array of dynamic organizations to increase DENSO’s capacity to innovate quickly and further its diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • In turn, IVADO is able to utilize DENSO’s rich and organic automotive expertise and add another partner that is committed to supporting its framework on equity, diversity, and inclusion in data science.
