Legacy of 110 Years

Established in 1906, The University Of Toledo College of Law is the law school at the University of Toledo. The university was accredited by the American Bar Association in 1939 and joined the Association of American Law Schools in 1941. It is one of only 27 other institutions in the nation that offers degree programs in all seven professional fields of law, business, education, engineering, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy.

Moreover, catering to the changing requirements of students, the J.D. program of the university can be tailored to the goals of any law student.   • Definite Course Structure: For meaningful connections with peers and professors, first-year courses enroll fewer than 50 students, and many upper-level courses consist of fewer than 25 students.
  • Practical Training: The clinics and externships of the university provide hands-on opportunities to practice skills in law education. They provide legal services to community members.
  •  Co-curricular Programs: The students can actively participate in 25+ student organizations, including law review, moot court, and mock trial programs.

Scholarship Programs

Along with the excellent academic programs, the University Of Toledo College Of Law encourages students to take advantage of scholarship programs. It awards more than $1.5 million in scholarships each year to well-qualified law students. Furthermore, the university offers one of the lowest tuition rates in the region. Students pay equal rates in addition to a $100 out-of-state surcharge. These scholarship programs help to reduce student debt and cover the full or partial cost of tuition fees. Below are their highlighted scholarship programs:

  • Leadership and Service Stipends: Students can apply for one-time stipends who show extraordinary leadership and promise. Stipends provide funding for miscellaneous law school-related expenses.
  • Donor Scholarships Program: Under this program, alumni and benefactors can donate money to support a few students throughout law school.

Maximum Student Engagement

At the University of Toledo College of Law, skills, and professionalism are emphasized from day one. Students can build the best personal relations by participating in activities and student groups. The extra-curricular activities promote collaboration through social, educational, and service opportunities.
