ROLE IN RESTAURANT DESIGN

WHY RESTAURANT SEATING PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN RESTAURANT DESIGN

A restaurant’s design needs to be functional, enjoyable, and eye-catching. It must also provide the right flow of movement. Restaurant furniture, such as sofas, booths, stools, and chairs, contributes significantly to the overall design concept.

We can all agree that the placement of restaurant seats is important. Put otherwise; a restaurant exists only since there are chairs. Some restaurants need seats. They function differently than your average eatery. They convey food, not serve customers in the restaurant.

Here are some things to consider when you buy new furniture for your restaurant, replace old pieces, or even add to the basic items you currently have:

• Narrow booths are a better option for tiny restaurants than large tables and seats. The objective is to keep the restaurant’s traffic flowing freely throughout without reducing the number of seats and tables available. Determine the exact square footage of your restaurant and set out the seats accordingly.

• Two important considerations in restaurant design are the type of food you serve and the demographic you are trying to reach. If you run a diner or casual restaurant catering mostly to families with kids, you might want to consider getting some little booths. On the other hand, if your restaurant offers upscale meals, you want to go for larger, plusher sofas and restaurant chairs.

• Your budget: Keep in mind that different seat kinds might add up in price very rapidly. You don’t have much money to invest if you are operating on a startup budget. There will be a few pieces you like when you go furniture shopping for restaurants.

• However, you would have to resist the need to give in and decide if you wanted to spend a lot of money on a stunning chair or whether you could find something just as amazing and worthwhile for a lower price.

The seating and layout of restaurants connect the company’s front and rear ends. Front-end components include dining spaces, cashier’s desks, waiting rooms, and receptions. However, the kitchen, pantry, storage, and administrator’s office are considered the supporting portion.

• After practice, moving an item from the storage to the kitchen for preparation and then to the customers’ table should be easy. This is what we mean when we talk about an appropriate connection between the front and back end. The many sections found in restaurants should be rationally divided from one another. In any other case, they shouldn’t be so close or that far away.

• Considerations when buying restaurant furniture: When purchasing chairs, choose basic designs rather than ones with many curves and cracks. The former needs more upkeep since the cracks can harbour dust, crumbs, and other detritus. If you’re going for upholstered chairs, choose a fabric that resists stains. Budget for a professional chair cleaning once a year for your restaurant.

• Sturdy and stain-resistant couches and chairs are what you want in the waiting area. Another thing to keep in mind is that every piece of furniture you choose should have a certain theme, whether it has to do with design or colour.

• The restaurant’s motif must be consistent throughout.

• As a last reminder, only invest in furniture suitable for a professional restaurant. Since restaurant furniture is designed to survive the extreme wear and tear it would get there, it is sometimes far more expensive than furniture for homes.
